Getaway

Our family has jumped headfirst into the busiest season of our lives so far. Simultaneously, Jake has started his graduate program, Annabella has started taking weekly ballet instruction and attending a homeschool Enrichment Day here in town. Thankfully, wee Penelope is still too small to have any extracurricular pursuits of any kind, but that will change soon, I realize. I am seeing very clearly why families have to strategize about limiting outside involvements in the interest of, well, the family itself. My MOPS year starts this week as well, so things here are... lively. Speaking of strategizing, we concluded our little family needed some time just the four of us (well...technically five), so Jake took the day off on Friday, we rented a cabin out on the western coast of Michigan, and explored Lake Michigan for the first time. It was a wonderful, refreshing weekend for all of us. Here's a little sample of our days.

Hey there! I haven't check in on you in a while either- yea- a boy! Congrats! They are so much fun- now your house will be a mix of pink and blue and Jake won't be so outnumbered;) Life here is a little crazy- Corban has RSV (respitory virus) so we've been giving him steroids and breathing treatments. Apparently, it's very contagious so we are stuck at home:( We found out about his food allergies when I began weaning him around 13 months. We gave him some whole milk and he broke out in hives. Then we gave him soy milk and he had the same reaction. So, his dr. did blood work and found he was allergic to all dairy, soy, peanuts, and eggs. Needless to say, it has been a rough, yet educational year! We were in the ER twice this summer because he couldn't breathe, so that was terribly scary. But God is good! Great to catch up- love ya girl!!
